THE BEST OF KCPE 2019
The 2019 KCPE results are out and education stakeholders arrived at the KNEC headquarters in Nairobi to witness their release. Education CS Prof George Magoha had earlier briefed President Uhuru Kenyatta on the status of both the KCPE and KCSE exam results.
Over a million candidates sat for the examinations last month with Andy Munyiri from Thogoto Primary in Kikuyu Constituency emerging the best candidate in this year’s KCPE examination with 440 marks. He was followed by three other students Elavian Onyango, June Cheptoo and Sean Micheal who tied at 439 marks.
Few irregularities in the KCPE exams
Education CS George Magoha has said that the number of candidates who got above 400 marks reduced from 11,000 (in 2018) to 9,770. TSC CEO Nancy Macharia has further stated that this year’s KCPE recorded few cases of irregularities and maintained that the teachers who invigilated and supervised the exam did a commendable job. She added that the teachers who discovered and reported cheating cases in the exams will be rewarded. Meanwhile, 56 teachers are being investigated over irregularities.
Form one selection
Form one selection will begin tomorrow and Education CS Prof. George Magoha states that by December 2 most of the pupils will know which secondary schools they will join as the government remains committed to the 100 percent transition from Primary to secondary school.
